Imagine... ‘an indoor garden with beautiful, botanical inspired paintings that will evolve over summer like a garden carousel, changing with the season. With new works to replace sold works, it will be an ever blooming flower show,’ the words of curator and Gallery Roma founder, Mr John Butler, consultant surgeon, Head of Gynaecology at the Royal Marsden and Medical Director of the Lady Garden Foundation.
In difficult times, making work - and sharing it - feels especially important. Art has a way of carrying light and joy when they’re most needed. It's a delight to be part of Gallery Roma's Flower Show in aid of The Friends of the Royal Marsden and the Lady Garden Foundation. I am exhibiting a handful of flower paintings alongside fellow Chelsea Art Society artists which include Rosie Copeland, the exhibition's co-curator Louise Diggle, Bella Martineau and Luke Martineau.
Thank you John, Roma Café owners Elvin, Cibe (the gallery is within the café) and their family. The gallery was created in memory of artist, Ljubica Jankovic Lazaric, who was a patient at the Marsden. The show is a 'circle of love' that celebrates colour, warmth and generosity of spirit, and all gallery profits will be donated to the Lady Garden Foundation and the Friends of the Royal Marsden.
