Portraits

Painting a portrait purely from life is a rare and luxurious thing.  My wish is to describe an aspect of a person, a mood and a feeling, as best I can and as carefully observed as I can, making the paint, marks and drawing work hard to bring a person to life on canvas.

I work from life and use preparatory drawings. Sometimes I use photographs.
